Remember when I said I was not one of those crazy people that goes shopping on Black Friday??? Well apparently I lied. The BEAUTIFUL Nina from Nina Knows Best is in town visiting her friend Brad so we had to meet up!! We spent yesterday afternoon shopping at NorthPark and then went to dinner at Palomino at the Hotel Crescent!!!!
I had the BEST time with Nina yesterday. It was like we were old friends that had known each other for years. People at Nordstrom must have thought we were crazy because when we spotted each other from across the store and we both started jumping and waving at each other!! We laughed and shopped till we dropped. YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!!!
I hope everyone had a Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Thanksgiving is tomorrow!!!! As many of you may remember from this post, Turkey Day is not exactly my favorite holiday in terms of food. While everyone else will be eating foods soaked in turkey drippings, turkey fat, and turkey gravy, I will most likely be eating a salad. BUT, at least there will the Cowboys game to keep me company (woo hoo) and fun times with Mr. Mojito’s family.
I honestly do not have much news to report on the WWW front. With my hurt ankle I have mostly been taking it easy and resting.
This past year has been such a blessing and I am so thankful for…
1. God and my faith because without both of these nothing else would matter.
2. Mr. Mojito because he makes it all worth it. You are my heart and I LOVE YOU!
3. My family and their constant support!
4. My health. Despite my hurt ankle, I have been blessed with great health!
5. My job. Even if I complain at times, I am so blessed and thankful everyday that I have a job in this economy!
6. My friends. Thank you for the laughs!
7. Our home! We have been so blessed with a roof over our head, food to eat, and new furniture to boot!
On a lighter note, I am so thankful for…
1. Mojitos.
2. Puppies.
3. Delicious Dallas restaurants.
4. Restoration Hardware.
5. My blog land friends!
6. The cold weather that has finally hit Dallas.
7. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.
I hope everyone has a safe, warm, food coma induced Thanksgiving filled with family, blessings and laughs.

I have never been one of those crazy people who get up at 1AM so I can go stand in line for 4 hours in the Best Buy parking lot so I can get a giant flat screen TV…BUT some of my friends and family members do spend the Friday after Thanksgiving standing in lines, fighting the crowds, and purchasing thousands of dollars in electronics or appliances.
So do you participate in Black Friday? If yes, what kinds of things do you shop for? What is the best deal you have ever gotten? Have any of you ever gotten in a knock-down, drag-out fight with a woman over a pair of Gucci boots at Neiman Marcus because they were $300 off or waited in line for 5 hours to buy a Nintendo Wii or Tickle Me Elmo?
Spill it!

Last night we went to the Gaylord Texan Hotel in Grapevine for the annual ICE! Exhibit. The ICE! Exhibit features holiday scenes and sculptures hand carved by 40 visiting artisans from Harbin, China. Some of the amazing scenes were Old Man Winter blowing snow, brightly colored ornaments, a winter forest with an ice skating pond, a life-size Santa’s lap to sit on, candy land, and a singing animal band. There was also Santa’s Reindeer ice slide, a 25-foot angel, an icicle canopy, and the Nativity story.
The exhibit is kept at a chilling 9 degrees so each person is required to wear a parka while walking through the exhibit. This was such a fun way to start the holiday season and get us in the Christmas spirit!

After the exhibit we walked around the hotel (which is a sight to see in itself) and ended up at the Old Hickory Wine Bar and Steakhouse. The hotel constantly has events, conferences, and weddings. Last night the hotel hosted the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders for a private event (we think it was for the swim suit calendar). We were lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time because while enjoying a glass of wine and cheese plate the beautiful Judy and Cassie Trammell walked into the restaurant/wine bar. I did not want to be one of those annoying fans so instead I just stared at them which I am sure made them feel wonderful. All in all, we had a great time at the hotel and at the exhibit!!
YAYAYAYAYAY for Holiday time!

Seriously I cannot thank everyone enough for the birthday wishes…from the blog posts (thank you BEB), to eCards (thanks LuLu, Danica, and Lyndsey), to comments, to Facebook wall posts and messages, you all seriously made my birthday so special!
I went to the Texas Ankle and Foot Center and after several X-Rays it was determined that I severely pulled several ligaments and tendons in my right ankle. I also have a severe case of tendonitis. As a result, I have to wear an oh so sexy boot on my foot for the next 2-4 weeks. The doctor confirmed that the injury was most likely a result of my new running shoes. After I heal I plan to immediately go to Luke’s Locker and be fitted for a new pair of shoes so I can start running again.
We were able to make the 3:45PM Twilight movie and the theatre was busy but not packed. I liked the movie, but I did not LOVE it. The only other thing I will say about the movie so I do not spoil it for others is that if you are a die hard fan of the books, then you will probably be disappointed in the movie. Several key points in the plot (i.e. how and when Bella told Edward she knew he was a vampire) were changed and there was also several other areas that were completely left out of the movie (i.e. Alice’s history). Mr. Mojito has not read any of the books so he also said that he liked it but did not LOVE it (then again I would be surprised if he did LOVE it being that he is a guy).
I planned on getting all dolled up for dinner at Fearing’s, but I did not want to stick out with my lovely new boot so I wore slacks and a sweater with my new coat (thanks honey). Our meal was AMAZING!!! It was seriously so delicious. I honestly cannot even describe it unless you have been there. The Ritz was beautiful as always. Such a great way to end my birthday!
I was literally shocked when I opened my birthday gift from Mr. Mojito. He seriously spoiled me this year. Remember when I mentioned that I wanted the Classic Blake Handbag from Marc Jacobs on this post? Well it turns out he had already ordered it for me!! I LOVE it and am still in shock that he got it for me AND the coat. Thank you honey!!! My birthday was so special!
I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend!!

WOW! Thank you to everyone for the outpouring of birthday wishes today!!!! AND a special thanks to my blog twin, Erin at Blue-Eyed Bride, for my birthday post and LuLu at The Dirty Martini Diaries for my YoYo and Hoops eCard!!!!!!
Also, I wanted to send a HAPPY BIRTHDAY WISH and shout out to Kristy at The Hall Family because we share the same birthday!!!! I hope you have a very special day!!!
I cannot believe I am 25 today!! Where did the time go?
Today’s plans include:
1. Work from 8-12…blah!
2. A lovely visit with the ankle and foot doctor from 12:30-2:30…also blah!
3. Twilight movie at 4:30 where I will get to witness hundreds of girls swooning over Robert Pattison as Edward Cullen, people in costume, and lots of clapping and screaming. Should be a fun and exciting time (well except for the fact that critics galore have given the movie AWFUL ratings)!
4. After the movie will be a quick trip back to the house to freshen up for dinner and a night on the town.
5. We will be spending the remainder of the evening at the Ritz Carlton Dallas and a delicious meal at Dean Fearing’s new restaurant (which should be extra exciting because Zagat just named Fearing’s as the number 1 restaurant in hotel dining along with the Ritz Carlton Dallas being named as the number 1 large hotel in the U.S.)!!!
I have to admit that my husband is completely amazing!!!! Thank you honey for making my birthday so special!! Thank you for the flowers, cards, and the amazing evening you have planned for me! I love you!
Mr. Mojito allowed me to open my first gift this morning upon waking up! He got me an AWESOME wool trench coat in cream from Banana Republic! THANK YOU!!! He says I am not allowed to open the rest of my gifts until this evening so I will provide details tomorrow!
Happy Friday everyone!!!!

I need Blogger help. Yes that is correct…the dorky engineer needs help! There are several blogs (both public and private) that I keep trying to add to my “follower” list, but every time I try to add them I get an error message that says, “The blog has been added to your follower list but the blog does not have a feed”…huh????? What am I doing wrong? I have no problems adding most blogs but I am having the hardest time to get the private blogs on my follower list…HELP!
And I had my weigh in today…I am choosing to just ignore that topic. Next week will be a better week!
Also, Whitney from ~THAT GIRL~ gave me the “Your Blog is Fabulous” Award!! THANK YOU!!

I am supposed to tell you 5 of my addictions (I am going to purposely leave out mojitos and Restoration Hardware because those are obvious):
1. Glassware…I LOVE glassware. I have a million different sets of mojito glasses, wine glasses, martini glasses, water glasses, beer glasses, etc…name the beverage and I have at least 2-3 different sets of glassware that could be used for it!
2. Muting the TV during awkward reality TV show moments (this drives Mr. Mojito nuts because he thinks the awkward moments are the best part).
3. Zen tea…I drink a hot cup of Zen tea every morning while eating a banana. I have been doing this since high school (except sometimes I switch it up and have Persimmon white tea instead).
4. Cleanliness…I HATE clutter and things in disarray so I am constantly cleaning and organizing. Needless to say Mr. Mojito does not share my same passion (although he is a VERY neat and clean person…thanks honey)!
5. Old school Disney movies…the second one is released from the vault it is in my hot little hands. I want to own the entire collection someday!
UPDATE: Red and White Preppy…can you email me so I can send you my persoanl email so I can read your blog?

So after yesterday’s sob fest post I think it is time for a more cheery attitude. So, it is Weight Watchers Wednesday!!!! How did everyone do this week???
I have to be honest I am in a funk right now. After hurting my ankle on Saturday I thought a few days off would do my body some good. Well, my foot hurts even worse than it did on Saturday. The swelling has not decreased and the pain has definitely increased. I can barely even walk! So I finally bit the bullet and made an appointment at the Texas Foot and Ankle Center scheduled for this Friday (ugh). I am not a huge fan of doctors, but I am hoping they can do an x-ray and see if there is serious damage to my foot and then tell me how I can heal properly so I can start running again!
I am concerned that when I finally am able to start running again I will feel like I am starting over. When I was working out before the wedding if I took even a week off it felt like it would take me a month to get back to the same level so I hope that is not the case in this situation.
ANYWAY, I have my weigh in tomorrow and I am NERVOUS! This past weekend was no bueno on the food eating scale. Unfortunately this weekend will not be much better (more on that later), but I will keep on trucking until I reach my goal weight!

The ties that bind friendships together are complicated, intricate, and breakable.
Some bonds are strong, despite time, distance, or both. Others appear strong on the surface, but in reality, are simply strong because of circumstance. Some are barely holding on by a thread. Then there are those where the thread actually broke and the bond was severed.
So what do you do when a friendship, where not too long ago was unbreakable, is now slowly being chipped away and broken? How long do you let yourself feel small, insignificant, unimportant, and taken for granted? At what point do you say enough and move on? How much longer do you fight before throwing in the towel?
I wish the answers to these questions were easy, but life is never easy…
UPDATE: Thank you for everyone’s comments. I apologize for being so vague before so I wanted to provide some clarification. The person I am referring to is honestly the sweetest and most genuine person I know. I am sorry if I made it sound like she did purposely hurtful and rude things to me because that is NOT the case. I have been letting certain situations chip away at me and have up until recently not discussed my feelings with this person. People are not mind readers so I do not hold her responsible for my feelings (especially since I know she would never do anything to hurt me nor was she aware that I was feeling this way). Anyway, I know that everything will be OK I just really needed to get my feelings out in the open before I had a total breakdown. Thank you for listening to me!

Well I guess my body finally decided to tell me to slow down. When I took off my shoes after completing our training run on Saturday, I discovered that my right ankle was SWOLLEN! I am not exactly sure as to the cause…it could be my new running shoes or maybe I landed on it wrong but I will clearly not be running for at least a week (dang it!!). It is not bruised nor is it tender to the touch so it is clearly not a sprain…maybe I pulled a muscle??? All I know is that I spent the remainder of the weekend either hobbling around or icing my ankle.
AND our Cowboys won!!!! Woo hoo!!!!!!!!!!!!
How was everyone’s weekend?
