happy birthday, mr. mojito!

by Mojito Maven on November 9, 2008

Today is your 25th birthday! Happy Birthday my love!

I love you.

Those three words, which at first glance, seem simple, even plain.

But, there is an honesty and complexity to those words…a promise made deep in our hearts…a promise of commitment, compromise, and support.

“I Love You” is the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.

You are the strength that keeps me trusting.
You are the hope that keeps me faithful.
You steal my heart and you take my breath away.

You hold me in your hands, protecting me…you won’t let me fall.
You are the light to my soul.
You are my purpose…You’re my everything.

I love you and I promise to cherish you all the days of my life.

I still mean this. Today and everyday!

BUT I could not end your birthday post without a few of your better moments.

Mr. Mojito is a man of many faces…

That’s too cute. Gotta love the array of faces! My husband makes those when he doesn’t want me taking his picture (or when he’s trying to ruin one if it has both of us in it…lol.) Happy birthday Mr. Mojito!

Happy Birthday Mr. Mojito!

We haven’t been to Craft – but we’ve been wanting to! I’m glad to hear a good review… question though: how is it on the fru-fru scale? Not decor-wise, but food-wise – Evs has an issue with “pretty, magazine food” as he calls it! :)

Ooo excellent! Thanks for the review – I’m officially moving Craft up to the Short List!!!

Such a fun/sweet post! Happy birthday to your Mr. Mojito!

Don’t get too discouraged about the “wedding weight.” It happens so often! it will come off if you just keep being diligent! I am so encouraged by your commitment and determination.

My journey seems to have been a little more complicated. My first major weight gain was my freshman year of college (shocking I know). Instead of the freshman 15, I got the freshman 31! I had been extremely active my whole life, and then I came to college and my activity took a nose dive. The summer following that year I worked at a camp, and I was so active and just watched what I ate really carefully and I lost 12 pounds. It took about the first half of my Soph year to lost the rest.

Fast forward to senior year – somehow my weight had crept up again, but only about 15 pounds this time. I got engaged in November and that gave me the incentive to start WW. So, from January to July I lost 17 lbs by counting points and exercising. Yea for being thin at my wedding!

I gained a little weight in the months following our wedding, but only about 5 lbs or so…I think I had finally decided to make it a lifestyle change. However, right after our 1 year anniversary we moved to Thailand. Long story short – I was totally out of my comfort zone, homesick, and for a few months was so unfamiliar with everything that it was hard to find healthy food. My “kitchen” was pretty rough (no a/c or anything) so I ate out almost every meal. Needless to say by Christmas I had gained about 13 lbs. I was so miserable. It was so hot there and none of my clothes fit anymore..uhg!! So, back on the fit train for me. That’s when I started training for the half marathon and I started counting points hard core. I by then had become more comfortable with everything and was able to buy and cook (still not fun) all my meals. i cut out all sweets and anything I considered junk food. I wanted the weight off ASAP! And it did come off. I’m now back down to 139, which is 2 lbs over what I weighed at my wedding. It sounds like a lot, but I carry my weight really well and I have quite a bit of muscle. 135 is the lowest I’ve been in my adult life, and my goal is to get to 130. I feel like I’m at a healthy weight now, but I know I’d feel better if I lost another ten. Plus, once I decide I want to do something, I’ll go crazy until I finally do it!

Sorry this is so long! I’m finally at a point where I feel like I have changed my lifestyle. I just really want to get off this last 10, and then I’m looking forward to maintaining for the rest of my life! I’ve promised myself that I’ll never have another gain like in the past again. It’s so bad for my body to go up and down like that.

Tomorrow I’ll find out if I’ve made any progress w/ Jillian. I think I’ve done pretty well, and it’s been a fun change I think. I hope you’ve had a great week! Can’t wait till WWW:)
