Happy Sunday everyone!!!
Last night Mr. Mojito and I went over to my best friend Ibby’s house for her annual Tacky Christmas Sweater Party!!!! Mr. Mojito and I scoured every major clothing store that we thought would sell tacky sweaters, but all we could find were these awful looking sweatshirts in the JC Penney women’s department. Clearly we failed at our task of finding good tacky sweaters because Ibby and Kevin appeared to have no problems. Seriously, how did Wal-Mart fail us???
It is tradition in my family that we either see the Nutcracker or a musical before Christmas. This is a tradition that started when I was born and I am so happy that Mr. Mojito can now join in on the fun. Today we went to see “Jersey Boys” and it was AMAZING!!!!! It has now become one of my favorite musicals. If you get the chance to see it make sure you do!!!

I ran into this EXACT same problem last week – our “performance group” for my in-house christmas party was supposed to dress in tacky holiday sweaters… total no-go! we had to settle for heinous light-up pjs from Wally!
how much fun! y’all look hilarious. and i can’t believe i haven’t seen jersey boys yet. i’ll add it to my list!
Oh that is priceless…I love the idea of a tacky Christmas sweater party!!!! The only other place I could think of would be a store that’s geared at older women (like Chico’s, maybe)…tacky sweaters + grandmothers go hand-in-hand.
Maybe Wal-Mart didn’t carry anything suitable because giant crocheted kitty-cats wearing Santa hats are simply too intricate to sew, and would cost too much money for Wal-Mart’s cheapass production line
At least your hair looked really pretty!
I just had my tacky sweater party! Found mine at Wal-Mart, it lite up….
Jersey Boys is one of the best musicals I’ve seen in years! Amazing! I put all the songs on my ipod!
Merry Christmas
That is funny!!
AND… I recently decided to bust out and try a mojito. My hubby bought Mango Mojito and it was pretty much nasty. (Almost Thera-Flu-ish) Should I try again with the regular flavor or stick with my basic margaritas??? Other friends have advised that the regular is awesome, but I thought I’d ask Mrs. Mojito herself. =)
Luckily my mom has worn Christmas sweaters my whole life, so I had a huge pile to go through to find a good one! Love your family tradition!
Love the tacky sweater pics
I saw Jersey Boys back in June in NYC and fell in love! I can’t wait to see it again THIS June!
i LOVE christmas sweater parties!!! they are too fun!
I’ve never actually been to a tacky sweater party, but they sound like fun
I’ve definitely SEEN my fair share of tackiness around these parts, though
ha!
You guys look liked you were having fun! I love musicals!
Thrift store.
They have the most fabulous tacky sweaters ever.
What’s tacky about that sweater? I have one just like it! LOL – just kidding. That would be funny though. I am going to have one of those parties next year. I had never heard of one before this year.
Merry Christmas!
Becky
Nobody looks tacky in these pictures! Y’all couldn’t achieve “tacky” if you tried! hahaha
I love the tacky party! That is such a great idea!
I heart musicals too!
Ok that’s it! I’ve seen and heard about one too many Tacky Christmas Sweater parties this year and I just love it! I’m starting my own tradition with this next year. Too cute!
I love tacky Christmas sweater parties!!!! They are so much fun! You may not have found I tacky Christmas sweater, but you look great in your tacky sweatshirt!!! Merry Christmas!
Consignment shops are key! However, my favorite tacky sweater came from my grandmother’s stash. The more sequins, the better.
I am a huge fan of Salvation Army for those tacky sweater needs.
Jersey boys? I love it! I think I just heard it is coming to the Fox here in ATL, so I am going to need to score seats. I saw it on Broadway, but any reason to see it again is a good reason!
How fun! You guys looks so great together!
Such a cute picture!! I’m so glad you guys had a great time. I’ve never even heard of Jersey Boys, but I’ll definitely have to try to see it now!
that sounds like so much fun. I swear every year i am having a tacky sweater party and never seem to find the time to plan the dang thing. next year for sure–wanna come??
ha
Love Jersey Boys and The Four Seasons! I have their greatest hits album and could listen to it nonstop!
TOO FUNNY! I love tacky sweater parties. I asked my mom the other day at what age she started wearing hers. Like–when do you forget your fashion sense and wear a light up sweater? She said after she raised me her brain wasn’t right anymore. Sounds about right…
I lllllllllove ugly Christmas sweater parties! I felt so bad though – last Friday was our work party, and this woman wore one – only she wasn’t kidding with it.
She was so sweet, and just had no idea that people throw whole parties around her (lack of) taste in sweaters! I had to look away so as not to laugh / cry for her.
Love Jersey Boys! As far as Ugly Sweater parties… They are my total fave. I got my hideous, cringe-worthy sweater at Cracker Barrel on sale after Christmas two years ago. Should definitely check the CB for some great ugly sweaters for next year!
love the sweaters and your gangster pose:)
Too funny!
Those are some sweaters alright. LOVED Jersey Boys….would go see it again in a heartbeat.
Humorous…and love it! What a great idea for a Christmas party! I might have to steal this idea.
Such an awesome idea for a party.
And I really, really want to see that musical!
That is too funny! However I think the girl on the left in the picture with the three of you derserves something…that’s pretty bad!!
I love it!
We had our first annual Tacky Little Christmas party last night and it was so.much.fun!
I’m going to post a few pics in a little bit…you’ll have to check it out.
I had no problem finding a sweater to wear (from my momma’s closet), but my hubby had to improvise a little with a red sweater and an underarmour half turtle!
we searched hard for our sweaters..ended up at Sears!!! not as easy as ya think!!! Happy Holidays!
Those sweaters are great! What a fun idea.
